Playground for Desires
1 December 2018
When shadows merge into the night
And rationality expires
Under the blanket of the dark
Hides a playground for desires.
The fence is down, no chains to lock
The deepest hopes under a rock.
In this world I am free
To wish you here next to me.
I hope you peek into my eyes
And see them smiling back at you
When I peal off the disguise -
It's what they're begging me to do.
I hope you listen closely
For the treacherous thud of my heart,
It's laughing loud, so boldly
At my failure to act smart.
I hope you take my hand
And walk with me
And don't pretend
You don't feel the goosebumps on my skin.
I hope you open your embrace
And let me in
Then kiss me in a daze
Because it's just a dream.
And rationality expires
Under the blanket of the dark
Hides a playground for desires.
The fence is down, no chains to lock
The deepest hopes under a rock.
In this world I am free
To wish you here next to me.
I hope you peek into my eyes
And see them smiling back at you
When I peal off the disguise -
It's what they're begging me to do.
I hope you listen closely
For the treacherous thud of my heart,
It's laughing loud, so boldly
At my failure to act smart.
I hope you take my hand
And walk with me
And don't pretend
You don't feel the goosebumps on my skin.
I hope you open your embrace
And let me in
Then kiss me in a daze
Because it's just a dream.
